Info for Virgo Sun
Mona Krogstad is a saxophonist and composer, graduated from Jazzlinja at NTNU in Trondheim and the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Mona thinks music is one of the most beautiful forms of communication we humans create with each other, and is fascinated by the fact that the language of music can contain so many images, feelings and moods.
Mona Krogstad Quartet is a new band consisting of young musicians who met in Trondheim in autumn 2020. Through solid compositions and beautiful melodies, the music in Mona Krogstad Quartet moves in a landscape that opens up for improvisation and playful interaction. The music draws inspiration from the old jazz tradition and saxophonists such as Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson, but also from more modern and free, Scandinavian jazz.
