Info for La Dormiente

The album title, La Dormiente, is named after the Taburno-Camposauro massif. The profile of the peaks, which has accompanied Luca, Giovanni, and me, as well all the inhabitants of Sannio, indeed appears like a reclining woman who seems to be sleeping. This image spontaneously connects to the ancestral myth of Mother Earth, while simultaneously reminding us of the mountain’s strength, which comes from calm and peace. A strength that doesn’t need to be exerted or displayed, as it is inherent in its very presence. I hope that the music on this record can convey, even in a small part, this sense of quiet resulting from energy and determination, as well as a sense of mystery and fascination for what the night hides in the woods — sensations that the landscape of La Dormiente has always communicated to me.

Through the collaboration with Luca Aquino and Giovanni Francesca, musicians with extraordinary sensitivity and a natural ability to listen, interpret, and transform material, the idea that initially existed only in my mind finally took shape and substance.

Luca Aquino, flugelhorn, trumpet
Giovanni Francesca, electric guitar
Dario Miranda, double bass, synthesizer (track 2, 10), dulcitone (track 8)
