Luise Volkmann
is a young saxophonist and composer. She studied with international musicians Johannes Enders, Richie Beirach or Riccardo del Fra. She has lived and worked in Germany, France, Palestine and Brazil, and is constantly involved not only in music, but also in social and cultural organization. She was one of the founding members of the Jazzkollektiv Leipzig and initiated the KUBIQUE Jazzfestival for International Jazzday.

As a musician she is working with contemporary composed and improvised music. Among others she has played concerts with Mia Zabelka, Nusch Werchowska, Devin Gray, Satoko Fujii, Fenxia Xu, Moritz Sembritzki and Natsuki Tamura.

As a bandleader she founded many small bands and also other large ensembles in Germany and France with her own compositions.

In 2014 she was invited to play at the „X-Jazz Festival Berlin“ and to the „Leipziger Jazztage;, In 2015 she was featured within NRW Soundtrip, „Jazz ist Revolution“ and „BandleaderInnen Festival“.

Since the beginning 2016 she has been a resident at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
