Info for Big Blue Desert

With Mehdi Haddab behind the wheel of Speed Caravan you know you’re in for a ride. Electrified, amplified and fuelled by creative fire, the band charge towards a psychedelic horizon; slaloming through rock, dance, electro, hip hop, world and other music - blazing a trail with raised fists, a hand brake turn and a sharp spray of desert sand.

Speed Caravan on stage are like Pirates of the Mediterranean, with captain Mehdi’s flamboyant and frenetic style on the electric oud turning his ancient stringed instrument into a weapon in the noisy service of rock, bass player Pascal ‘Pasco’ Teillet underlining the oud’s arabesques, electronic beat mistress Hermione Frank grooving at her computer, Mohamed ‘Simo’ Bouamar’s deft percussion skills and throaty vocals keeping the vibe firmly in the Middle East, and last but not least drummer and vocalist Rocky Singh (ex member of Asian Dub Foundation), with his powerful and cheerful playing on drums and true heart of a rocker, multiplying by ten the energy Rock-'n-roll of the live.

In 2011 Gabriel’s Real World Records has planned to release the successor of Speed Caravan’s debut album Kalashnik Love from 2009.
