Olga Kopylova
Pianist with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSESP) since 1999, Olga Kopylova was born in Uzbekistan and studied at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Her solo album Estrela da Manhã (2006) features works by Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Medtner and Scriabin.
As a soloist, she has performed with the OSESP, the Campinas Symphony Orchestra and the Curitiba Chamber Orchestra, among others. She performs chamber music at the OSESP’s series of chamber concerts and with her own ensembles, such as the Sexteto São Paulo and Duo Virtuose. She also teaches at the Osesp Music Academy.
Yuriy Rakevich
was born in Leningrad, now Saint Petersburg, in Russia. He began his musical studies at the age of 6 and, at 18, was admitted to the Moscow Conservatory, where he graduated. He graduated from the 2nd Henryk Szeryng International Violin Competition. He has been soloist in concertos for violin and orchestra, such as: Sibelius (Russia); Mozart's No. in Mexico, as well as Ravel's Tzigane and Chausson's Poéme.
He has worked as concertmistress with the Orchestra and Opera and Ballet of Fine Arts in Mexico, as soloist with the New Hampshire Symphony Orchestra (USA) and as guest spalla with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in Australia. Currently, besides his work with Osesp, he is a member of Quarteti Glazunov.
