Notos Quartett

Mit ihrem Spiel haben die jungen Musiker des Notos Quartetts in den letzten Jahren sowohl die Fach- presse als auch ihr Publikum begeistert. Der Gewinn des „Parkhouse Award” 2011 in London, der 1. Preis beim „Charles- Hennen-Concours” 2011 in Holland, der 1. Preis beim „Premio Vittorio Gui" 2013 in Florenz, der 2. Preis und der Sonderpreis für die beste Brahms-Interpretation sowie der Publikums- preis beim „Città di Pinerolo” 2013 in Turin und der 2. Preis beim „Osaka International Chamber Music Competition“ 2014 in Japan unterstreichen den Erfolg, den das Ensemble auf Bühnen im In- und Aus- land verzeichnen kann.

Nach begeisternden Auftritten in der Londoner Wigmore Hall, im Concertgebouw Amsterdam, bei den Festspielen von Schwetzingen, dem Rheingau, Würzburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und Usedom sowie, im Rahmen einer Tournee auf Einladung des Goethe-Instituts, in den wichtigsten Metropolen Südostasiens ist der Konzertkalender des Ensembles gut gefüllt.

Seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 2007 erhielt das Quartett wichtige Impulse durch Mitglieder des Man- delring-, des Alban Berg- und des Guarneri Quartetts sowie des Beaux Arts Trios.

Als Stipendiat der Stiftung Albéniz und der Santander Consumer Bank AG hat das Notos Quartett die Ehre, von Günter Pichler, dem ersten Geiger des legendären Alban Berg Quartetts, am Instituto Internacional de Música de Cámara de Madrid als erstes Klavierensemble überhaupt im Spezialstudiengang für professionelle Streichquartette künstlerisch betreut zu werden. Zudem ist das Notos Quartett Stipendiaten-Ensemble der Villa Musica Rheinland Pfalz und wird von den Freunden der Villa Musica e.V. sowie der Freunde Junger Musiker Frankfurt e.V. unterstützt.

Seit September 2014 unterrichtet das Notos Quartett im Rahmen des Waverley Junior Fellowships am Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester Kammermusik und ist als musikalischer Botschafter dieser renommierten Musikhochschule tätig.

Winning the „Parkhouse Award“ 2011 in London, the First Prize at the „Charles-Hennen-Concours“ 2011 in Holland, the First Prize at the „Premio Vittorio Gui“ 2013 in Florence, the Second Prize, the Special Prize for the Best Brahms Interpretation as well as the Audience Prize at the „Città di Pinerolo“ 2013 in Torino, the Second Prize at the „Osaka International Chamber Music Competition“ 2014 in Japan, the First Prize at the “OnStage Competition” 2016, the First Prize at the “Schoenfeld International String Competition” 2016 and the First Prize at the "International Chamber Music Competition Almere" 2016 in the Netherlands highlights the success the ensemble can list onstage at home and abroad.

It comes as no surprise that their concert calendar is full after inspiring performances at London‘s Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, at the festivals of Schwetzingen, Rheingau, Würzberg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Usedom, and furthermore a concert tour through the major cities of Southeast Asia by the invitation of the Goethe Institute.

Since their inception in 2007, the Notos Quartet has received valuable guidance by the members of the Mandelring Quartet, the Alban Berg Quartet, the Guarneri Quartet, and the Beaux Arts Trio. Supported by a scholarship of Fundación Albéniz and Santander Consumer Bank AG the Notos Quartet feels honored to work together with Günter Pichler, first violinist of the legendary Alban Berg Quartet, being the first piano ensemble ever that is accepted in the degree programme for professional string quartets at the Instituto Internacional de Música de Cámara de Madrid.

In 2014/2015 the Notos Quartet was holding the Waverley Chamber Music Fellowship at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and since October 2015 the ensemble is the Artistic Director of the NOTOS CHAMBER MUSIC ACADEMY.
