Fourteen years of band history quickly told? That's impossible! But in the case of the outstanding melodic rockers Jaded Heart from Germany it's worth giving it a try! In 1990 singer and songwriter Michael Bormann (ex Bonfire, Letter-X) and his brother Dirk Bormann (guitar) were in search of suitable companions. The following year Michael Mller (bass, ex The Sygnet) and former Mad Max drummer Axel Kruse joined the band, thus Jaded Heart was born. The new album Sinister Mind will be featuring more musical varieties than ever, so Jaded Heart will definitely win many more fans. Of course, Jaded Heart will be touring again the streets of Europe by bringing this new record to the fans by playing live again

2005's Helluva Time showed the way for the 'updated' JADED HEART lineup. Yes, this interesting German melodic Hard Rock band could overcome premier (now ex) member Michael Bormann's departure with some equally nice music. Would you agree with the above statement? Being of some same belief or not, this year's Sinister Mind should be more crucial for JADED HEART's future livelihood. You gotta test yourselves 'against' it.

JADED HEART counts more than fifteen years of life! Well, when this band emerged outta nowhere to carry (along with e.g. fellow rockers PINK CREAM and FAIR WARNING) a recipe already established (with enough of differentiation, of course, in terms of production and instruments sound) by 80s middle/northern Europe bands like BONFIRE, PRETTY MAIDS or (even) VICTORY and CRAAFT, a debut album called Inside Out did achieve marking the band with much of hope for a bright 'soften metallic' Hard Rock music.

To cut a long story short, with the majestic voice of Bormann plus the dynamic songwriting it was no secret JADED HEART did climb high enough in the (so called) Melodic Rock sky all these years. Albums like Slaves & Masters and IV and tunes like Surrender and Burning Heart who can doubt 'bout this notable outfit? Thus, it was sad news to see Bormann waving 'goodbye', even if 2005's Helluva Time did show newcomer Johan Fahlberg (ex-SCUDIERO) would not let down whoever's trusted the band's future in his throat. And this brings us to 2007 and a new album - their second in the Frontiers family - being released under the Sinister Mind title.

The first thing needed to be mentioned is that the production is again powerful and beautiful. Recorded, mixed and mastered by the band plus the valuable help of Michael Voss (MAD MAX, CASANOVA, DEMON DRIVE), Chris Lausmann (ex-BONFIRE) and Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69), Sinister Mind takes no prisoners if we're talkin' bout a commanding sound. To the spine: nearly no bad song this album has; there's lots of 'groovy melodic' stuff (Hero and Crush That Fear), you won't avoid some typical JADED HEART material (Justice Is Deserved, Sinister Mind, Going Under and See The Light) while mid-tempo 'night drive' tunes will blow you away (Open Your Eyes, Always On My Mind and Hallucinate). Johan Fahlberg is nothing less but convincing in his performance now. He resembles to the vibe of David Readman (PINK CREAM 69) a lot (JADED HEART's music anyway shows similarities to the fellow German outfit's style) and he grabs you by the balls with his upright voice. The man's a deal.

Keys drive silently the songs' melodies while the guitars work is impressive. With leads firing endlessly (still, exaggerating at times...) and some bombastic rhythm section, it is of no wonder why JADED HEART still has the potential in their sound. An equal 'hard' work for both power and melody does eventually end up to really nice albums like Sinister Mind. So: a) the band ensures there's tomorrow even if Michael's 'out', b) Fahlberg ensures he's a brilliant choice for JADED HEART, c) listening to the album for the 5th-6th time in a row ensures you gotta grab Sinister Mind. It's a full/thorough release.

Im Jahre 1990 begibt Sänger/Songwriter Michael Bormann (ex-BONFIRE, LETTER-X, THE SYGNET) mit seinem Bruder Dirk Bormann (Gitarre) auf die Suche nach geeigneten Mitmusikern. 1991 stößt das Duo auf Bassmann Michael Müller (ex-THE SYGNET) und den ehemaligen MAD MAX-Schlagzeuger Axel Kruse, die das Line-up vervollständigen - JADED HEART sind geboren. Kurz nach dem Release ihres Debutalbums “INSIDE OUT“ (auf Long Island Records) im Jahr 1994 rekrutiert man Keyboarder Chris Ivo für die Truppe, um einen noch fetteren Sound zu erzeugen.

Nach einer Support-Tour für GLENN HUGHES und MOTHER'S FINEST verlässt Gitarrist Dirk Bormann die Band wegen persönlichen Problemen und JADED HEART sind dazu gezwungen, aushilfsweise mit diversen Sessionmusikern zu arbeiten.

Das Zweitwerk “SLAVES & MASTERS” (1997), wird weltweit abgefeiert und setzt sich für vier Monate in den Top Ten der japanischen Import-Charts fest. In Deutschland folgen TV-Auftritte bei RTL, PRO 7 und diversen anderen Sendern. Danach begeben sich JADED HEART auf eine ausgedehnte Konzertrundreise mit AXXIS und HEAVEN'S GATE, die mehr als 40 Shows umfasst.

Dann geht es Schlag auf Schlag. Im Dezember 1997 wird das dritte Album “MYSTERY EYES“ via Teichiku-Records in Japan veröffentlicht, bevor im Februar 1998 der Deutschland-Release folgt.

Im Juni 1998 wird Gitarrist Barish Kepic als festes Bandmitglied installiert.

Im März 1999 unterzeichnen JADED HEART einen Plattenvertrag bei der Münchener Firma MTM Music. Das vierte Album, schlicht “IV“ betitelt, wird im Sommer 1999 bei Rocklegende BOBBY BARTH (AXE, GUILD OF AGES, BLACKFOOT) in dessen NEH-Studios in Denver, Colorado produziert.

Die Scheibe gilt bis heute in Melodic Rock-Kreisen als absolutes Meisterwerk.

Im Februar 2001 folgt das Best Of-Album “DIARY 1990-2000” und eine Europa-Tour im Vorprogramm der Schweizer Ausnahmerocker GOTTHARD. Nach der Tour mit GOTTHARD wird Chris Ivo durch Keyboarder, Gitarrist und Sänger Henning Wanner ersetzt. Bei der Eröffnungsfeier für die Eishockey-WM 2001 in Deutschland performen JADED HEART ihren Song “CHAMPION“ für den Pay-TV-Sender PREMIERE.

Im Dezember findet sich die Band bei Produzent TOMMY NEWTON im Studio (VICTORY-Gitarrist) ein, um das fünfte Album “THE JOURNEY WILL NEVER END“ einzuspielen. Veröffentlicht wird das Album im April 2002 bei MTM Music, und knüpft trotz stilistischer Veränderungen an den starken Vorgänger “IV“ an.

Im Herbst 2003 nimmt die Truppe dann die Arbeiten zum neuen Longplayer “TRUST“ in Angriff. Nach “THE JOURNEY WILL NEVER END“, welches im Nachhinein den Ansprüchen von JADED HEART (vor allem was die Produktion betrifft) nicht mehr entspricht, beschließt man das Heft nun selbst in die Hand zu nehmen. Eingespielt und gemischt wird “TRUST“ in Michael Bormanns eigenen RMB Rock-Studios in Duisburg. Gemastert wird die Scheibe von Tom Müller in Berlin. “TRUST“ erscheint im Februar 2004 beim neuen Labelpartner ufTone Music. Im April/Mai touren JADED HEART auf ihrer ersten, ausgedehnten Headliner- Tour Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz und Belgien.

Kaum von der Tour zurück, trennen sich die Wege von Michael Bormann und dem Rest der Band. Bormann verfolgt seine Solokarriere und der Rest der Band begibt sich auf die Suche nach einem neuen Frontmann. In einem beinharten Auswahlverfahren, kann sich schließlich der Schwede JOHAN FAHLBERG (Ex-SCUDIERO) gegen die Schar seiner Mitbewerber durchsetzen, da er nicht nur stimmlich sondern vor allem menschlich sehr gut zu JADED HEART passt.

Am 10. Oktober ist es nun soweit: Das neue JADED HEART-Meisterwerk “HELLUVA TIME“ wird weltweit via Frontiers Records (unter Lizenz von ulfTone Music) veröffentlicht. Aufgenommen in Duisburg, Rosenheim und Stockholm, wurde der Longplayer von Chris Lausmann (Ex-BONFIRE) in seinen Nocturn Studios in Rosenheim co-produziert. Gemastert wurde die Scheibe wieder von Tom Müller in Berlin.

Am 30. Oktober rocken JADED HEART das erste UNITED FORCES OF ROCK-Festival in der Ludwigsburger Rockfabrik Seite an Seite mit Pride Of Lions, Casanova, Wetton/Downes, etc. Der erste Gig in neuem Line-up wird zum Triumphzug und die Band spielt sich in die Herzen der Fans.

So ist es kein Wunder, dass die deutsche Kulttruppe HELLOWEEN die Duisburger im Dezember 2005 als Support-Act für die Frankreich und Spanien-Dates ihrer „Keeper Of The Seven Keys – The Legacy“-Tour 2005 einlädt. Diese Shows werden zu JADED HEARTs Meisterstück in punkto Liveperformance, denn man bietet jeden Abend über 2000 Fans eine perfekte Show.
