Marie-Claude Pietragalla
trat mit 16 Jahren in das Ballett der Pariser Oper ein und wurde von 1990 bis 1998 zur Primaballerina ernannt. Parallel dazu trat sie im zeitgenössischen Tanz auf und wurde schließlich Choreographin. Seit 2004 gründete sie mit dem Tänzer Julien Derouault das Théâtre du Corps, einen Ort, an dem alle Tänze aufeinandertreffen. Die Künstlerin, die mit den größten Choreografen und Tänzern (Maurice Béjart, Rudolf Nurejew, Patrick Dupont…) zusammengearbeitet hat, ist auf internationaler Ebene eine künstlerische Referenz. Als Eklektikerin öffnet sie sich auch anderen Disziplinen. Sie hat unter anderem in einem Theaterstück von und mit Eric Emmanuel Schmitt gespielt.
