Info zu Built to Last

Das dritte ATLAS-Album „Built To Last“ bietet den gewohnten und leicht zugänglichen Mix aus AOR und (dezent) progressiven Songstrukturen. Das oberste Prinzip der Briten ist eine coole Hookline, und davon gibt es sehr viele (u.a. „All Or Nothing“, „One More Night“ oder „Another Heartbreak“). Auch die drei Teile von „Chasing Portraits“, die einen inhaltlichen roten Faden besitzen, sind absolute Highlights. Die Produktion und der Mix der Scheibe geht erstmals auf das Konto von Keyboarder und Band-Sprachrohr James Thorley, während sich Thomas Johannsson (u.a. THUNDERMOTHER) für das Mastering verantwortlich zeichnet. Die Songs klingen fantastisch. Wenn DREAM THEATER eine AOR-Band wären, würden sie so klingen.

Wir wollten einen energiegeladenen Song schreiben, der schwer ist, aber dennoch melodische Elemente enthält und einen sehr eingängigen Refrain hat. Wir wollten Elemente des gesamten Albums in einem Song repräsentieren, was eine Herausforderung war, aber wir lieben es immer, uns einer Herausforderung zu stellen!"

Die außergewöhnliche Nummer kommt breit und schwergewichtig daher, mit ultrakompetentem Schlagzeugspiel und wundervollen Keys. Die Powerhouse-Vocals sind aufregend und fesselnd und der Refrain ist schillernd. Vielleicht ist dies nicht so erdrückend schwer, wie es sein könnte... aber, ja, wir nehmen an, dass wir in dieser wütenden, sturmgepeitschten Alles-oder-Nichts-Welt gerade ein wenig ruhige Harmonie brauchen... also verstehen wir es!

ATLAS
is a Melodic Rock band from the North of England that is comprised of 5 musicians, James Thorley (Keyboards), Howie Little (Lead Guitars), Chris Redfearn (Bass Guitar) Craig Wells (Lead Vocals) and Ryan Briggs (Drums). Keyboard player Thorley founded the band in early 2017 with the intention to create a band that centered its roots around the 80s AOR and Melodic Rock genre whilst delving into other areas of Modern Hard Rock, Metal and Progressive Rock.

They have released two LP studio albums to date, through the European label AOR Heaven, the second album 'Parallel Love' charted in Japan at #36 and debuted in the top 10 Amazon Classic Rock Albums chart on release week.

In 2023 ATLAS announced the third studio album "Built To Last' which is set to be released on the 20th October, with distribution being handled by SPV.

ATLAS have toured the UK sharing the stage with The Quireboys, Eric Martin (Mr Big), FM, Vega, Big Country and Praying Mantis.
