Info zu DeLonga SONGE
This project is the result of an intense complicity, so musical as personal, between Pierre-Alexandre Saint Yves and Andrew Wells-Oberegger. Having noticed that their sounds and passionate nature were complementary and following multiple collaborations, the idea to form a duet was imperative. With De Lònga, both composers and musicians discover and explore with passion a new musical universe.
Each original creation of these two composers and musicians is a merge between ancient instruments and those from other cultures. The melodic themes are entrancing and leave room for improvisation, while being inspired by the sounds and by the essence of these so particular instruments. The multiple influences let appear oriental sonorities as well as making an incursion into the past.
Thanks to the quality of listening and musical exchange between the musicians, the musical pieces take surprising directions. The desire for discovery and the will to deepen their knowledge of ancient instruments and of different cultures bring them to handcraft their own instruments. This project offers them an opportunity to compose while perfecting the art of playing those instruments, a pleasure shared by both musicians.
