U.S.-based Polish pianist Elzbieta Bilicka has been praised for organic combination of thought and emotion. This can be keenly felt in this evocative program Lights & Shadows. Elzbieta Bilicka was born in Slupsk (Poland). In 2011 she finished the music school in her hometown and passed her leaving examinations at the III Navy High School in Gdynia. In 2016 she got the Masters of Arts degree at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz where she studied with Agata Nowakowska-Gumiela, Alberto Nos and Katarzyna Popowa-Zydron. From 2016 to 2018 she was a member of the class of Nelson Goerner at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve in Switzerland. Elzbieta has taken part in various piano competitions winning prizes and distinctions. The latest and most important of them are: the honorable mention, laureate title and special prizes for the best rendition of a W.A. Mozart concerto and I.J. Paderewski pieces at the X International Ignacy Jan Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (2016) and the 3rd prize at the Polish Chopin Piano NIFC Competition in Katowice (2016). In 2018 Elzbieta was awarded The Young Poland Scholarship of the Polish Minister of Culture.

Elzbieta's playing has been praised for “organic combination of thought and emotion” (Katarzyna Popowa-Zydron) plus “artistry and energy with the highest professionalism” (Cathal Breslin). She has been described as “an unusual and interesting artist” (Adam Rozlach) and “an intensely musical being – a highly refined musical temperament” (Michael Moran).
A graduate of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (class of Katarzyna Popowa-Zydron, Agata Nowakowska-Gumiela and Alberto Nose), she is currently a DMA candidate at her Polish alma mater. Between 2016 and 2018, she studied under Nelson Goerner at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve in Switzerland.
Elzbieta is a prizewinner of various international piano competitions. The latest and most important of them are: Walled City Music International Online Piano Competition in Derry, Northern Ireland, 2020 (1st prize), Putra International Online Piano Competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2020 (1st prize), the 10th International Ignacy Jan Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz, Poland, 2016 (laureate title) and Polish Chopin Piano NIFC Competition in Katowice, Poland, 2016 (3rd prize). In 2018, she was awarded the ‘Young Poland’ Scholarship of the Polish Minister of Culture.
Elzbieta has performed solo and with orchestras in many cities of her native Poland, as well as in Italy, Austria, Switzerland and USA. Her recitals have been featured on Polish Radio Koszalin, Polish TV Culture and BBC Radio. In July 2021, Centaur Records will be releasing her debut solo album: Lights and shadows, which presents impressionistic influences in music by Chopin, Ravel, Scriabin and Szymanowski.
Elzbieta joined the Piano Faculty of the Caine College of the Arts at Utah State University in Logan (UT) in May 2019.
