Info zu Sharing
A.G. Weinberger & The Vagabonds return with "Sharing", the tenth studio album by A.G. Weinberger, and will be released on April 14, 2026. The album contains 12 new songs and marks a new phase in the career of one of Romania's most respected blues and rock artists.
Florentin Streche: How did the idea for this new album come about, especially since you have already celebrated 40 years of career?
AG Weinberger: Honestly, I had no plans to make another record. Last year was a very important anniversary year for me: 60 years of life and 40 years of activity. I felt at peace with what I had already done. The two editorial volumes had appeared, there were concerts with a special charge, very intense, very intimate, and I felt that perhaps that was a sufficiently rounded moment in itself. I no longer felt the need to demonstrate something through new studio material. However, sometimes things do not happen according to our strict will, but through a kind of alignment of energies. My wife was one of the people who pushed me, in a good way, towards this idea. She said to me very directly: "What do you mean, stop making records?" At the same time, I received a phone call from Norbert Kovács, whom I knew from other projects. He told me that he had a studio, that maybe it would be a good idea for me to stop by and see what it was like, without any obligation. From close to close, all these emotional and human impulses took me one day to Târgu Mureș. That's where the trigger came. That's how it all started.

A.G. Weinberger
born in Oradea, is a musician, guitarist, composer, producer, and essayist, and one of the leading promoters of American blues in Romania. His career as a blues singer began in 1986. He co-founded Romania’s first blues band, the Transylvanian Blues Community, and later formed his own band, Weinberger Blues Machine, in 1991. His first Romanian blues album, Good Morning, Mr. Blues (1996), was followed by Standard Weinberger in 1997; the latter won Best Jazz Album of the Year. In the same year, he performed in Bucharest during US President Bill Clinton’s official visit and received a personally signed appreciation letter from Clinton. He was the only non-American invited to the iconic Bluestock Festival in Memphis.
His distinctive style merges classic blues with contemporary musical experimentation. In his book The Song Between Freedom and Manipulation, he explores music’s role in personal and societal life. For him, music is not just art—but a vehicle for values and freedom; a dialogue with the deeper layers of human existence.
Hailed as 'Mr. Blues of Romania' by the critics and 'a charismatic guitarist of the highest class' by B.B. King, A.G. Weinberger is honored with the Cultural Merit Order in rank of Knight. He continues his mission tireless, full of passion and faith in promoting good musical taste in romanian cultural life.
One cannot speak of blues, jazz or rock in Romania without the exceptional musician A.G. Weinberger.
