Dieses Album erlaubt es uns, die Vielseitigkeit der jungen Künstlerin Anna Urpina zu schätzen, deren Ziel es war, sich jeder Partitur aus einer historisch informierten Perspektive zu nähern. Die Kompositionen aus dem 17. und 18. Jahrhundert (Castello, Biber, Corelli und Telemann) sind mit Barockvioline (mit Darmsaiten) und -Bogen neben dem Cembalo aufgenommen. Außerdem ist die Stimmung einen halben Ton tiefer (415 Hz) als im heutigen Repertoire üblich (442 Hz). Auch die Techniken der Epoche wurden angewandt, ebenso wie die barocke Flexibilität bei Verzierungen und Improvisationen. Die Verwendung eines einzigen Tasteninstruments zur Belebung des Basso continuo ermöglicht einen direkteren Vergleich zwischen den Werken der beiden historischen Epochen, da die Partituren des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts (Webern, Pärt, José Luis Turina und Guix) mit moderner Violine und Klavier aufgeführt werden. Um die Kontraste und Konstanten, die die acht Kompositionen miteinander verbinden, so gut wie möglich hervorzuheben, wurden die Stücke nicht chronologisch geordnet, sondern aus jeder Epoche eines zusammengestellt, wodurch eine anregende hybride Erzählung entsteht.

Ein origineller Vorschlag, der das raffinierte klangliche und künstlerische Potenzial der »Vier-Akkord-Lyra«, wie Biber die Violine zu nennen pflegte, hervorhebt.

A rising star in the European Early Music scene, violinist Anna Urpina is rapidly garnering praise from international media for her personal and insightful performances of repertoire ranging from the 17th to the 21st century.

A performer of both historical and modern instruments, Urpina is soloist of the Ambronay European Baroque Academy tour, has also appeared in several International Festivals in England, Norway, Poland and Spain, like Aspen Music Festival, Verbier Festival, FeMap, FeMAS, Noches en los Jardines del Real Alcázar Sevilla, Brigthon Early Music Festival, Utrecht Early Music Festival, Torroella de Montgrí Festival, Salzburger Festspiele, performing as soloist and in important ensembles such as orchestra The Age of Enlightenment, EUBO,Ensemble Artaserse of Phillipe Jaroussky, Freiburger Barockorcheter, Member of Les Musiciens du Prince under Cecila Bartoli, Artist of discographic label IBS Classical, and Artist in Residence of Clàssica Jove 21-22.

Born in Vic (Barcelona), she pursues her studies in Madrid, University of Madison-Wisconsin (US) under prestigious Vartan Manoogian, Royal Conservatory of Brussels under Shirly Laub and Hochschule für Musik of Leipzig under Mariana Sirbu. She has received lessons from Paul Kantor, Eva Graubin, Mimi Zweig, Pinchas Zukerman, Gerard Claret, Natalie Boyarsky, Alexander Kerr, Masao Kawasaki, Serguei Fatkoulin, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Stephan Picard. A direct disciple of Maestro Enrico Onofri in Italy, completes her Early Music studies in France, ESMUC, and Amsterdam Conservatory under supervision Vera Beths, Anne Bylsma, Emilio Moreno,François Fernandez and Manfredo Kramer. ​

She has been concertino and soloist of JONC, JONDE and member of Gustav Mahler Jungendorchester, EUYO and orchestra Schleswig -Holstein, performing at Musikverein Viena, Konzerthaus Berlin, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Berliner Philarmonie, Elbphilarmonie Hamburg, Philarmonie Paris, Royal Albert Hall, Staatoper Viena, Tonhalle Zurich, KKL Lucern . She has been awarded first prizes in Xàtiva National Competition, Marcos Pedro Jimeno Competition and New Tenuto Competition in Belgium. She has also obtained awards in Arjau Competition and Salou National Competition, special prize for the best Bach performance in the International competition Violines por la Paz and Primer Palau de la Música Barcelona International Competition. She wins the competition of “Real Conservatorio de Madrid” to perform as soloist in Auditorio Nacional Madrid and Laureats Competition in Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

Despite her youth, she debuted at the age of 15 as soloist with Chamber Orchestra of Vic under Jordi Mora. Since then, she has performed as soloist with Philomusic Orchestra, Camerata de Madrid, Orquestra de Cambra de Vic, Brussels Philarmonic, XXI Century Orchestra, Orquesta del Real Conservatorio de Madrid, Orchestra of Royal Conservatory Brussels, Orchestra of Festival of Concabella and Orquesta Sinfònica de Burgos, performing in prestigious Halls as Fundación Juan March Madrid, Palau Reina Sofia Valencia, Palau de la Música Catalana, Grand Salle Brussels, Brahms Saal Viena and Albert Hall London.

She has participated in international festivals such as Aspen Music Festival, Madeline Island Music Camp, Kronberg Academy, Verbier Festival, Gustav Mahler Academy, Kronberg Academy, FeMAS (Early Music festival Sevilla), FEMAP (Early Music Festival Pyrinees), Brigthon Early Music Festival London, Utrecht Early Music Festival, Salzburger Festspiele, Festival Torroella de Montgrí. In 2022 she plays for Prince Alberto II Monaco in the festivity of National Monegasc day She plays a violin by David Bagué 2007 and Eduard Sitjes 2019.
