Info zu Homebody (EP)
Following her compelling debut EP Mending, Frida Touray returns with Homebody, a work of raw emotional clarity, crafted during a time when her voice was literally fighting back. Diagnosed mid-process with a rare condition that forced her into silence and stillness, Touray chose not retreat, but rebuild. From the quiet corners of domestic life, she’s shaped a collection of songs that radiate warmth, vulnerability and quiet endurance.
Musically, Homebody expands on Touray’s jazz-soul foundations with sparse, atmospheric production that amplifies her voice and message. There’s a newfound looseness in her phrasing, a deeper sense of presence in every word she sings. You can hear the letting go, of perfection, of control, and the deepening of purpose in its place. Each track lands with unfiltered intimacy and emotional architecture, a subtle act of defiance wrapped in softness.
This is music built on stillness and shaped by resilience. A reflection on self-worth, illness, femininity, community and healing. Songs that speak to the unseen parts of recovery and the small rooms we build ourselves back up in. Homebody is a record for anyone rebuilding from the inside.

Frida Touray
Starting out her career as a session vocalist and songwriter for globally renowned artists including Lianne La Havas, Laura Marling, James Bay and Jordan Rakei, Swedish born artist Frida Touray is ready to spread her wings and fly solo. This project is the result of years gathering inspiration from a creatively diverse career living and working on the London music scene. Frida is also the lead singer of genre-bending, sonic explorers Native Dancer which has its foundation heavily in Jazz. In this new solo project, Frida merges her roots in Soul, RnB, Blues and Spoken word Poetry with melodies and timbre that speaks to her native country Swedens affinity for melancholy and lyrical storytelling, particularly in the folk music tradition.
With a heartwarming tone, vulnerable vocal delivery and deeply personal perspective this music makes you reflective and turn inward all the while feeling embraced by the sounds of beautifully picked guitar lines, lush acoustic pianos and organic percussion.
