Louis Matute
Guitarist Louis Matute raised in Geneva where he learned very soon Flamenco guitar with Etienne Mayerat. In 2013, he won the first music price of his highschool and started to learn jazz. He has been studying at AMR Jazz School during one year with Vinz Vonlanthen and next year he entered the Superior Conservatory of Lausanne (HEMU) where he studied with Francis Coletta during two years. He plays now mostly modern jazz music in differents bands in Lausanne and Geneva, and had the chance to play in great swiss places like AMR, Chorus Jazz Club, Cully Jazz and Montreux Jazz and have played with famous musicians like Nicolas Folmer, Nguyen Lê and Matthieu Michel . He also leads his own quartet, with which he played in Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paolo in 2016 for Montreux Jazz Festival 50th birthday.
Louis Matute Quartet
Created in 2016, Louis Matute 4tet is made up of four young musicians from different Swiss Superior Conservatories. Guitarist Louis Matute is leading the band, and his compositions are influenced by modern music but always respecting the roots of tradition.
With Noé Franklé on drums and Virgile Rosselet on double bass, and Yohan Jacquier on tenor saxophone they developed a strong musical friendship by playing together for a long time. They are always looking to share their musical sensitivity with the audience. Before being a Quartet, Louis Matute Trio played in Festivals like "Switzerland meets Brazil", in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo for the Montreux Jazz Festial 50th birthday, AMR Summer Festival, Label Suisse Festival, Verbier Classic Festival and in Clubs like Chorus Jazz Club Lausanne.
