Info for Songs from the Haunted South

Texas-born songwriter and producer JM Lapham was the sounds-and-samples component of Manchester-based indie rock band The Earlies, purveyors of a kaleidoscopic brand of folk-tronica explored over two celebrated albums.

Lapham was also one half of The Late Cord with fellow Texan Micah P Hinson and later one half of the critically acclaimed The Revival Hour with Dm Stith.

Ten years in the making, JM Lapham’s newest platform is the sprawling collaboration project, Old Fire, whose debut album ‘Songs From the Haunted South’ features a total of 22 vocalists and musicians spread out across the United States and Europe. The roster of collaborators includes such diverse names as Tom Rapp (Pearls Before Swine), Alex Maas (from the Texas psychedelic band, The Black Angels), DM Stith, Chris Barnes (Gem Club), Warren Defever (His Name is Alive), Thor Harris (Swans), Swedish singer-songwriter Rebekka Karijord, to name only a few.

Featuring: John Mark Lapham with: DM Stith, Warren Defever, Rebekka Karijord, Robin Allender, Christopher Barnes, Semay Wu, Tom Rapp, Sara Lowes, Christian Madden, Alex Maas, Danny Norbury, Bob Hoffnar, Alex Hutchins, Lindsey Kuykendall, Mark Kuykendall, Elizabeth Warren. Ieva Berberian, Joe Ryan, Thor Harris, and more.
