Sometimes reflective, sometimes exuberant, PUR continue their impressive band history including ten number one albums with the haunting "Persönlich" album.
With 68,000 spectators, "40 years of PUR-20 years of PUR on Schalke" was celebrated retrospectively in Sep. '22. Heading for this gig was almost like a lifeline in stormy seas. At least that's how Hartmut Engler felt. At last the pandemic-related writer's block of the PUR frontman was lifted and he could let his thoughts and feelings flow into the songs of the new album "Persönlich". With subtle metaphors. Hartmut Engler's song lines never seem cerebral, they are close to reality and always credible. One of the first songs to emerge was "Voll sein", at once emotionally charged and stirring. "I miss the stories," sings Hartmut Engler. With this he gets to the heart of exactly that time when he simply couldn't write any lyrics. "I couldn't cope with the overall situation at all," he sums up the Corona heyday. "Sure, I don't have to play 150 concerts a year anymore today. But I need a goal to look forward to." Like the show on Schalke - Including: Voll sein, the first song from the new album. Energetically supported in the chorus by the enthusiastic audience. After all, sentences like "I want to be full, to be wonderful. Full of joy, full of love, full to the top with heart" perfectly capture the longing for pure lust for life.
