Info for Human Being
Marcel Vogel is back with this 8tracker including remixes by label mates Reginald Omas Mamode IV and Dear Earth. Lowslung grooves for an evening in front of the fireplace with your lady (or man), this EP was created in an collaborative effort by Berlin Singer Khadija, Keyboardist Tim Jules, Guitarist Jair Wix and written and produced by Marcel Vogel. Outstanding tracks are the sleazy Moonchild and the title track Human Being.
Following up from 22a affiliate Reginald Omas Mamode IV’s 8-track Dilla-esque hip-hop vocal scat release All Together, Intimate Friends boss Marcel Vogel offers up the label’s seventh release himself with a groove heavy excursions record shaded with dusty blues notes that the label has grown synonymously with. Remixes come from one half of Juju & Jordash (Jordan Czamanski), Dear Earth and Reginald himself, and with praises flooding in from musical kingpins Gilles Peterson and Hunee, the album doesn’t disappoint.

Marcel Vogel
German born and raised Marcel Vogel is one of the most passionate DJ’s you will encounter, with 20 years of experience behind the turntables.
Marcel started DJing Chicago and Disco House, but being heavily influenced by eclectic DJ's like Theo Parrish, Alex Barck (Jazzanova) and Rahaan, that gave him the organic and relaxed style of DJ-ing, for which he is known today.
Marcel is currently an Amsterdam resident, from where he operates his labels Lumberjacks in Hell and Intimate Friends. On Lumberjacks in Hell he has released more than 15 records with hits such as Rayko’s “All Around The Watchtower” and the 2 x 12” Compilation “Chicago Service” featuring the ubiquitous “Hit It N Quit It”.
He uses Intimate Friends as a vehicle to release his own productions and also close friends such as NY*AK, Roman Rauch and Borrowed Identity (all due in 2015). His sought after Em Vee edits can be found on various labels across the board.
Next to his residencies in Amsterdam, Marcel has toured the US, Australia and regularly plays for crowds all over Europe.
