Info for Haydn: Les sept dernières paroles du Christ, Op. 51 (Remastered)

The Quatuor Via Nova, led by Jean Mouillère, was one of the leading French chamber ensembles in the 70s and 80s, thanks in particular to the participation of Gérard Caussé or Roland Pidoux. This recording of Haydn’s Last Seven Words in its string quartet version has been exhumed from the archive and remastered in high resolution.

is a French string quartet ensemble established in 1968. Founded in 1968 by musicians who had met at the Cyrne Arte festival (Corsica) four years earlier, it first took the festival's name. Its repertoire ranges from classical composers to contemporary classical music. It was subsidized in 1976 by the French Ministry of Culture.
