Biography Brad Tursi
Brad Tursi
A Connecticut native, Brad Tursi grew up around country music as a kid. After a stint as lead guitar player in Atlantic/Showdog Records act, Army Of Me, Tursi moved to Nashville to write songs as well as play guitar for artists like Greg Bates and Brett Eldredge. Eventually, Tursi teamed back up with his old college pals Whit Sellers and Geoff Sprung, along with Matthew Ramsey and Trevor Rosen to form the band Old Dominion. Old Dominion's self‐titled EP featured the band's first hit song, "Break Up With Him," which was co‐written by Tursi and is RIAA certified platinum.
Old Dominion's latest album, Happy Endings, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and #7 on the Top 200. Their first two singles "No Such Thing As a Broken Heart" and "Written in the Sand" both reached #1 on Country Mediabase Chart and were also cowritten by Tursi. This achievement marks the platinum‐selling country quintet’s fourth total and third consecutive #1s. The group have also surpassed 1 billion on‐demand streams, while every single from Happy Endings thus far has earned a platinum certification. The group has released two singles from the much anticipated third album, both which are co‐written by Tursi. “Make It Sweet” has already topped charts at #1 and “One Man Band” is steadily climbing the charts.
Tursi has written several hit songs for both Old Dominion and other artists, 8 of which have gone #1. His songs have been released by Kenny Chesney ("Save It for a Rainy Day"), Tyler Farr
(“Guy Walks Into a Bar”), and Luke Bryan ("Light It Up").
In 2018, Tursi won the Association of Independent Music Publishers ‘Artists Writers of the Year’ award, which he also previously won 2 years earlier. He is also a CMA Triple Play Award winner. Additionally, Tursi won the Academy of Country Music Award for ‘New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year’, American Country Countdown Award for ‘Breakthrough Group/Duo of the Year’ and the 2018 and 2019 Academy of Country Music Award for ‘Vocal Group of the Year’ as a part of Old Dominion. The band has also received nominations for CMT Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards and iHeart Radio Awards. Tursi is currently on the road with Old Dominion where they just wrapped up their headlining “Happy Endings World Tour”.
