Hailey Tuck - Alcohol

The "Alcohol" music video was shot in a vintage speakeasy bar, hidden in the Paris underground. For the mirror effect, director Jethro Massey was inspired by the work of surrealist photographer Man Ray and his French muse, Kiki de Montparnasse (A woman who is also one of Hailey's idols). The effects were captured in camera, filming into broken mirrors, which, the director says "was a challenge on set, having to avoid reflections of light stands and cameras and inverse our lefts and rights when directing actors and changing the camera angles. But it's an effect that wouldn't have that same organic structure if we tried to create it in post-production." Jethro and cinematographer Isarr Eiriksson chose to shoot on 16mm film, to give it that rich texture and grain, in keeping with the vintage feel of the song. The Chaplinesque drunk in the film is played by talented dancer and choreographer Fanny Marmouset, head of the Ballet Désaxé dance troupe. The gorgeous costume design is by Hailey's close friend Sorrel Mocchia de Coggiola, with the looks completed by hair and make-up artist Amélie Salomon.
