Info for Gipsy Traffic
After having taken the sound of the gypsy guitar to the four corners of the world as the accompanist of the singer Zaz, Guillaume Juhel settles in Paris and offers us "Gipsy Traffic", a French swing recital composed mainly of original works. A musician familiar with Parisian jazz clubs, Guillaume Juhel, alias "Guichto", tackles all the styles that make up the richness of this music: medium swing in the spirit of the Hot Club de France, waltzes inherited from Gus Viseur and Tony Murena, without forgetting a few up swings that are in the pure tradition of the genre. The compositions and arrangements reflect the poetry inherent in this music. With a deep respect for tradition, Guichto makes the gypsy style his own and undoubtedly adds to it!
"Guillaume Juhel, who has been Zaz's guitarist since the beginning of her career, has reinvented himself and released an album of new compositions. The notes of jazz, swing and blues resonate in this musical work of great virtuosity. Each of the tracks on this album is imbued with a wandering freedom, a poetry and a joy inspired by the art of gypsy music."
