Info for Encanto De Las Lluvias Poetas Nacidos En El Siglo XIX

For some people Chilean poetry started with Pablo Neruda, and others say it began with Nicanor Parra, but the singer/songwriter Eduardo Peralta insists that there was a longer running history of poetry, even during the foundational years. That is why in his new record “Encanto de las lluvias: poetas nacidos en el siglo XIX “(Spells of Rains: poets born in the nineteenth century”), he sings poetry from earlier writers, who were keys to Neruda and Parra, and gave personality to the dawn of the literary life of our forgetful Chile.

Canta a los poetas chilenos del siglo XIX (Sings to the XIXth Century Chilean poets) will be released on August 2014 under the new label and international distribution platform, Mapa Records. The record was recorded in Master Studios, by the prominent British engineer and producer, Barry Sage.

Pedro Antonio González, Vicente Huidobro, Francisco Contreras, Mercedes Marín del Solar, Guillermo Blest Gana, Carlos Pezoa Véloz, Pedro Prado, Osnofla, and even Andrés Bello are some of the names included in this anthology summarizing romanticism, critical insight, irony and philosophical depth.

In this record Eduardo Peralta embodies his minstrel vocation to resonate the semi-forgotten voices with his guitar and suitable melodies as a bridge between cultures and voices from a different time.

It is a patrimonial CD at the very least, but it works as a playful and poetic musical memory exercise. The musician of a bright international career recovers these almost lost words and re-establishes them intact and alive in these coming days, weeks and months around theaters cultural centers and auditoriums.

The dear spirits of our nineteenth-century poets sing along with us and back again to recite their well rhymed verses, sometimes dark, but always lucid.
