animAcorde
was created with the dual intention of exploring the existing repertoire for violin and guitar and commissioning/premiering new works for this enormously versatile and attractive instrumental combination. Returning to primary sources, in order to get as much of an insight as possible into a composer’s original intentions, is central to the duo’s work.
animAcorde has given many concerts since its foundation in 2012, with highlights including the world premiere of Tomás Marco’s Tapices y Disparates as part of Madrid’s Clásicos en Verano (Summer Classics) festival; its performances with soprano Laure Barras as part of Switzerland’s Concerts de Grandson (broadcast live by Radio Télévision Suisse) and Rencontres Orient-Occident (Sierre), and at the Sursock Museum in Beirut; recitals at the Le Bois qui Chante Festival (Château d’Oex, Switzerland), Helsinki’s Messukeskus, Madrid’s Círculo de Bellas Artes and Fundación ONCE, the University of Málaga’s Chamber Music Series, the ClasicArnedillo Festival, the Ex Corde International Guitar Festival (Molina de Aragón), the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia’s Sonidos de Primavera (Sounds of Spring) series and the Conciertos de la Ojeda Festival; and two tours of Morocco, with concerts in Tangier, Casablanca, Rabat and Larache.
