Info for Anton Bruckner Symphony No. 4 "Romantic"
At the border between High and Late Romanticism, where the style of the time was to change and finally dissolve, Anton Bruckner once again revived the originality of the Romantic spirit with his Fourth Symphony. He himself gave his work the title "Romantic", which is still popular today, and it evokes an ideal world in bright, unbroken colours. Conductor Bernard Haitink conducted a Munich subscription concert for the first time in 1958 and then stood at the rostrum of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra again and again. Their congenial collaboration lasted more than six decades. This recording is the first release of a concert recording from January 2012.
