Info for Travelers
‘Travelers’ is the result of a collaboration between three personalities, interested in different varieties of jazz, combining their musical experiences in a single moment. The band's debut album contains six tracks set in the convention of contemporary jazz. Five of them are original compositions by the leader and an arrangement of the song Blue in Green by Bill Evans. The material was recorded at Cavatina Studio in Bielsko-Biała on 10 December 2019.
JAH is an acoustic jazz trio composed of talented Polish musicians of the young generation. The band consists of leader Jan Jarecki - piano, Michał Aftyka - double bass and Marcin Sojka - drums.
In their work, the trio focuses on a modern sound, but at the same time does not abandon the jazz tradition. Singing melodies, rhythmic variety and extended harmonies are very important to them. They use elements of swing, groove and broad improvisation. Winners of national and international competitions, among others: Distinction for the JAH Trio at the 6th Blue Note Poznań Competition 2019, Finalists of the Bucharest International Jazz Competition 2020 and Finalists of the Jazz Juniors 2020 competition: collaboration with Jazz Po Polsku and special performance at the Nisville Jazz Festival 2021 in Serbia.
