Info for 10 Hits Wonder
Gaspard Royant released a few months ago a vinyle trilogy that gave life again to Roy Orbison, Phil Spector, Otis Redding or Brill Building souls. Recorded and mixed in the legendary Toe-Rag Studios by Liam Watson (White Stripes '7 Nation Army', The Kills, Supergrass,...), this first hits were acclaimed by the neo 60's fans and the medias. Heir of the 60's, he recorded his whole album '10 Hits Wonder' using analog technology. This album includes the trilogy hits but also reveals some unreleased tracks. A collection of singles, in the pure album 60's tradition. Sometimes autobiographical ('Monkeytown' referring to his US tour), sometimes retro-futurist/GeekPop obsessional ('Marty McFly') or heart broken on 'Break-up Bar', Gaspard Royant sings about disappointed loves, dreams of glory and some runaway wishes. He was awarded a fff by Télérama!
Gaspard Royant
is a former journalist who re-found himself by establishing a career in music. In 2007, he left his home to travel and compose in America and two years later, returned to France and released his first EP, ‘You can have me (if you want to)'. Gaspard Royant is very much the sort of person who was born to follow their own dreams.
In the years since releasing his first EP, Gaspard Royant has become particularly well established on the French new-music scene. His music has been featured on films throughout Europe such as ‘The Big Sleep' and ‘A Christmas Story' which is being featured at the Cannes Film Festival.
