Info for Ephemeral Memory
"Ephemeral Memory" is the debut album by hip-hop producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Braths, aka Thomas Horeczko, for Sony Music. The musician, known for his collaborations with hip-hop stars such as Apache 207, reezy, Nimo and Olexesh, Chapo102, and Ezhel, presents his own instrumental compositions. He combines miniatures for solo piano with layered string sounds and melancholic orchestral arrangements to create his own atmospheric soundscape. Braths played many of the instruments himself, and Esther Abrami and the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra appear on the album as special guests.
For Braths, born in Paris in 1998 to a Sudanese mother – a cellist – and a Ukrainian father – a composer – "Ephemeral Memory" is a homage to the history of his family and ancestors. The album addresses his own family's migration experience and the associated latent memories and complex emotions that have persisted across generations. Experiences such as slavery and the struggle to overcome borders and nationalities play a role in this.
Braths was born in Paris in 1998 to a Sudanese cellist mother and a Ukrainian composer father and was surrounded by music from an early age. His diverse cultural background, enriched by Jewish and Muslim roots, has shaped his multilingual identity as a European citizen of the world. A classically trained violinist and accomplished musician, Braths began his musical journey at the age of four and is adept at seven instruments, including violin, guitar, saxophone, bassoon, and piano. After moving to Berlin to study sound engineering and jazz composition, he quickly made a name for himself in the European hip-hop scene, collaborating with some of the genre's biggest artists, such as Apache 207, reezy, Nimo, and Olexesh. In "Ephemeral Memory," Braths combines his multifaceted influences into unique, atmospheric instrumental compositions that invite listeners to reflect on their own stories and emotions.

Thomas Horeczko, aka Braths
is an artist beyond compare.
Classically trained in a suite of instruments, and also responsible for some of the biggest rap hits in Germany, Braths is an astonishing talent capable of production, performance and composition that few could even dream of.
His unique story unfolds from his birth in Paris in 1998 to a Sudanese mother – a cellist – and Ukrainian father – a pianist and composer. Surrounded by music from an early age, Braths draws strength and passion from his family's musical heritage, overcoming life's challenges through their love for music. His cosmopolitan upbringing, marked by diverse cultural influences with Jewish and Muslim roots in his family, is reflected in his multilingual identity as a European citizen of the world. As a musician, he embraced his mixed heritage to carve his very own path through diverse musical spaces.
Initiating his musical journey at the age of 4, Braths masters seven instruments, including the violin, guitar, saxophone, bassoon, and piano. Throughout his life, he has often been a singular standout in various settings. One notable occurrence that had a lasting influence on him was being the only black violin student at the Paris Conservatory. Reflecting on this experience, he is committed to breaking barriers in classical music, aiming to make it accessible to the black community. After leaving school in Paris, Braths moved to Berlin to study sound engineering and Jazz composition. Soon after arriving in Germany, he ventured into the German Hip-Hop scene, earning himself a reputation as a talented songwriter and producer. He collaborated with some of the most prominent hip-hop artists from the local scene, such as Nimo und Olexesh, Symba, Kana und Mavie, or Kornkreis Mafia Symba. He is now an established creative force running a popular production company with recording studios in both Berlin and Paris.
In his own music, Braths combines all his multifaceted influences into unique, atmospheric instrumental compositions.
