Music is, from the outset, an inherent part of humanity and, therefore, necessary to understand its evolution. From the dawn of time, people have composed, performed and listened to music. There is no culture, in any latitude that has no kind of musical expression attached to it.

Today, like yesterday, music continues with us, more developed, diverse and complex. But now we know more, perhaps 50,000 years afterwards?, its healthy effects, as well as its powerful influence on very different processes of learning, in behaviour and psycho-motor activity, among others; furthermore we know about its effectiveness in therapies for Parkinson, Alzheimer, autism and other syndromes and diseases.

Music is a necessary asset which, beyond making us experience pleasant and evocative emotions, involves the development of different capacities, particularly that of expression, hence contributing to an integral evolution of the person.

With reference to science, music activates more parts of the brain than any other sensorial impulse. Its healthy effects are more than proved in people and also in the society. In both dimensions, music contributes to establish very powerful values.

Moreover, it is necessary to definitely exile the consideration of an entertainment discipline which, like other artistic specialities, still accompanies music.
