Info for Embrace
Schemes Quartet is a new breath of fresh air on the Norwegian jazz scene. The musicians met at Jazzlinja in Trondheim in the autumn of 2021, and have since then played together with a focus on uniting their fascinations for different musical directions. The band is characterised by explosive and energetic live performances where improvisation leads the way for lyrical and modern compositions. Their music is unconventional and full of contrasts; intricate songs bound together by open stretches and the use of improvisation techniques. Their inspiration comes from the jazz scene in Berlin, New York and Scandinavia.
The band's members have backgrounds from other projects such as Kongle Trio, Superspreder and Skaali Kvartett.
