Info for Event Horizon
Following the atmospheric and critically acclaimed Blue Prince soundtrack, Trigg & Gusset return with Event Horizon, their fifth studio album and a new chapter in their signature blend of noir jazz and ambient electronica.
Beautiful and at times tense melodies intertwine with subtle grooves and cinematic textures across eight carefully sculpted compositions – from the slow build of Kuroi and the haunting pull of Holding Pattern to the wide open sounds of The Story of Major Cisco and the lazy swing of Glass Memory.
Bart Knol (Trigg) handles composition, arrangement, production and mix, while also performing on keys, bass and synthesizers. Erik van Geer (Gusset) adds his distinctive sound on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet. Coen Hamelink (trumpet) and Mischa Porte (drums) contribute strong performances that bring additional colour and depth to the album.
Event Horizon presents Trigg & Gusset at their most atmospheric and adventurous — an album where melancholy, tension and reflection merge into a rich, cinematic whole.

Trigg & Gusset
is a Dutch duo blending dark jazz, moody electronica, and cinematic tension into a distinctive and layered sound. Since their debut in 2013, they’ve carved out a unique space where melancholy, groove, and atmospheric depth meet.
At the heart of Trigg & Gusset is the collaboration between Trigg’s refined production and composition skills and Gusset’s expressive performances on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet. Their music moves between noir jazz, electronica and ambient, drawing influences from contemporary slow jazz, classical music, and minimalism.
After four albums—including The Way In (2020), also released on vinyl—they released the original soundtrack for the award-winning game Blue Prince (2025), praised for its emotional richness and immersive atmosphere.
Trigg & Gusset are more than a duo—they are curators of a creative network. Collaborations with musicians like trumpet player Coen Hamelink, along with various drummers guitarists and double bass players, add layers of texture and color to their sound.
“Het muziekgezelschap van Trigg en Gusset vervoert ons, bespeelt ons gemoed. Zoals films en tv-series van David Lynch dat doen.” – recensie ‘The Way in’ Jan Bol (2021)
”If ‘Legacy of the Witty’ proved that Knol and van Geer could play elegantly and with passion, then ‘Adagio for the Blue’ certainly proves that their talents lie not just in the moment. It’s a release that proves they can compose just as well as they can improvise, and it’s simply a joy to hear” – recensie Anthem review (2015)
“There is something deliciously dark and mysterious about the film noir-esque sounds presented on Legacy of the Witty by Trigg & Gusset on Preserved Sound … something very David Lynch.” – headphonaught (2013)
