Info for L'Île
Simon Kearney releases his next album, L'Île, due on 26 April. He also presents his first single, L'île d'Orléans, which arrives with a surprising tone for the Quebec City pop-rocker, who delivers a delicate acoustic guitar piece that showcases his voice and lyrics. L'intime chanson is an ode to the island on the outskirts of Quebec City, which has also been Kearney's home for a number of years.
From one island to another - With the album L'Île, Simon Kearney changes tone and returns to his roots to pursue his path more maturely. He abandons the pop'n'roll appropriateness of his recent releases in favour of a feverish folk in which he explores his insularity.
The artist lives on several islands, and here he crosses them in song: Orléans Island, where he has a house; the island of Montreal, where he shares a flat with musician friends; the Magdalen Islands, where he makes a stopover every summer; and Cuba, where he has immersed himself in Latin American melodies and tried to learn to dance the cha-cha.
A natural collaboration between Simon Kearney and Big in the Garden - Simon has been part of the Big in the Garden family circle for several years as an associate of the label's sister company, the management and entertainment agency 9e Vague. In preparing L'Île, the collaboration between Simon and Big in the Garden, known for its Americana aesthetic, came naturally. Simon joins a group of talented artists including Alex Burger, Veranda, Laurent Paquin, Coco Méliès and Endrick & the Sandwiches.

Simon Kearney
is a songwriter, producer, accompanist, even cook - who has been rolling his hump for over a decade. From the folk-rock beginnings of an EP of the same name (2013) and the seminal album La vie en mauve (2015), he then rolled out his brand of 'pop n' roll' for the next two, Maison ouverte (2019) and América (2022). 2024 marks a return to his roots with the release of L'Île, a fourth album of intimate, impressionistic folk on which he explores his insularity.
This album contains no booklet.
