Info for Utopia

Driven by both a need for carefreeness and a humanist urgency, MEAJAM's new album tells the story of UTOPIA. An entity that, despite its human condition, reconnects with its environment: the fascination of an immense, enveloping oak, the hypnotising song of a stream, the warm or icy breath of the wind... A return to its roots that proves to be a journey of initiation. MEAJAM questions humanity's place on our planet. Its uniqueness and its unconsciousness. Are we wonderful children (Petits cow-boys) or lawless executioners (Château de cartes)?
With this new album, the four musicians, who have known each other on a human and musical level for more than two decades through their many joint projects, continue along the musical path suggested by pianist Xavier Faro, while taking care to build a group sound.
This time round, the quartet opens up its thinking by inviting two unusual musicians to join them on two tracks. Flutist Ludivine Issambourg and singer/vocalist Clémence Lagier. They bring an obvious and superb collaboration to this album.
