Germany's most successful poetry project is entering the next round: Angelica Fleer & Richard Schönherz are continuing their celebrated Rilke project just in time for the 20th anniversary of their gold-plated debut album - with the sixth studio album ‘das ist die SEHNSUCHT’.

On this new work, the composer duo Schönherz & Fleer expand the illustrious guest list of the Rilke Project, which has grown over 20 years, five studio albums and countless concert evenings, with ten singers and actors who interpret a total of 18 texts by Rainer Maria Rilke over variedly arranged, contemporary productions.

This time they include Désirée Nosbusch, Reinhard Mey, Frida Gold & Cassandra Steen, Dietmar Bär, Julia Engelmann, Peter Simonischek, Felicitas Woll, Pasquale Aleardi and Ben Becker.

In addition to classical music poetry recordings, Richard Schönherz and Angelica Fleer have also developed three songs from their Rilke collection, which were impressively sung by Reinhard Mey, Frida Gold & Cassandra Steen and Pasquale Aleardi. With the wonderful ‘LIEBES-LIED’ - interpreted by Frida Gold in a duet with Cassandra Steen - there will also be a real pre-release single for the album for the first time in the history of the Rilke project.

‘Rilke is simply inexhaustible,’ enthuses Richard Schönherz, originally from Vienna, when he talks about the creation phase of the latest album, which was “once again a very intensive and moving process”: “We are constantly discovering new texts by him... the letters alone are a huge field in which you can lose yourself,” adds his partner Angelica Fleer. Her joy at the latest finds from the inexhaustible Rilke oeuvre is written all over her face: We have realised that people are always re-reading Rilke, discovering new aspects, she says, ‘and so you find so many new treasures during the research that you have to sort them out again.’

Richard Schoenherz and Angelica Fleer
are a team of composers and producers. Their musical cooperation mainly stands out through their lyric projects they have developed together in which selected lyrics from different poets are being interpreted by renowned personalities and then accompanied with specifically composed music. Schoenherz & Fleer initiated and created the most successful German lyric project, the 'Schoenherz & Fleer Rilke Project'. From this series of audio books four CDs have been released, three of which have reached gold status. Since many years the 'Rilke Project' is touring through Germany with great success. Directed by the two producers renowned actors and musicians interpret live selected lyrics of Rilke in interplay with the music from the 'Rilke Project' CDs. A concert video produced by 3sat and ZDF-Theaterkanal and directed by Hannes Rossacher has been released on DVD. Schoenherz & Fleer have also published an Insel paperback about the 'Rilke Project Live Tour'.

Schoenherz & Fleer have received important national and international awards for their work. For their 'Rilke Project' they received the Inter-national Book Award 'Corine' in the category 'Audiobook'. In the category 'Innovation' they were nominated for the 'German Audiobook Award'.

The two composers are married and live with their son in Frankfurt am Main.
