Info for The Dylan Project

As a nod to an intellectual giant of music: an exciting musical project started in 2016 in which the US folk legend's songs are sung by a woman! She sings the singer Steffi Breiting in a powerful soprano voice. Her voice is full of volume and color, rough and slightly throaty, which promises a very interesting listening experience. Breiting is the front woman of the bands “Moods of Ally” and “Sweet Confusion”. She is also a background singer for various formations, plays regularly with Dirk Zöllner,

“MasterPeace” is the name of the new band in which musicians from different countries play together. Dylan has been interpreted thousands of times in different ways. This time six excellent musicians have come together, whose musical figurehead for years has been Bob Dylan. These include Wolfram Bodag on organ, piano and harp from the band "Engerling". The group has chosen the world-famous rock musician Mitch Ryder as his regular accompanist for his European performances. There is also the Brit Jeff Allen on drums and Kuma Harada from Japan on bass guitar. Both have been very successful in the music business around the world for decades, playing, among others, in the band of the British blues star Snowy White and with Mick Taylor, who played with the Rolling Stones for many years. There they met the German guitarist Tobias Hillig at a concert, whom Mick Taylor brought on stage as a guest guitarist at this gig. Tobias Hillig, who also had the idea for this band together with Steffi Breiting.

Tobias Hillig: “We don’t see ourselves as a cover band. The songs are rearranged and have their own unique touch.” The selected songs include classics like “All along the Watchtower.” Not so well-known songs should also be played . Such is the 1984 piece “License to kill”. and the widely unknown "Love minus zero".

Tobias Hillig: “Dylan is one of the most influential artists of our time. There is hardly a musician who hasn't been influenced by him. We see our program as a bow to an intellectual giant of music.”

Over the last 6 years, a very diverse look at the great master's work has emerged in MasterPeace's own versions. The studio recordings have now been mixed in London and are available as a download in 44.1kHz, 24-bit.

Kuma Harada died in March this year at the age of 72. His last studio recordings can be heard on this album. We dedicate this album to him, a great musician and dear friend!

Jeff Allen
born Jeffrey Allen in Glasgow, Scotland, and is the brother of the bass guitarist Chris Cross.

In the late 1960s/early 1970s he appeared in the band East of Eden, where a co-member was Geoff Britton who would join Wings , and in 1971 he was part of the original line-up of the successful chart band Hello, originally called The Age, who also toured with Gary Glitter.

In 1976 he spent a brief time on a session recording with the Scottish band Blue as a percussionist and drummer as replacement for Timi Donald.

Steffi Breiting
lives for singing. Blessed with a voice that is at home with both longing and power and that doesn't need to shy away from comparison with other great singers such as Etta James or Amy Winehouse, she and her band "Sweet Confusion" bring music to the stage that enchants and moves and reminds us of the soundtrack of Love, Peace & Understanding.

This album contains no booklet.
