Info for Stoned & Supremely Confident
Childe is a refreshingly chaotic talent. You’ve likely never met anyone like him, and you probably never will. He is the living embodiment of a modern storyteller, an artist built on impurities inspired by the edges of life.
For some artists an alter ego is something to hide behind - for Childe, it is a place to be free. Growing up with ADHD presented difficulties for the artist - constantly battling an overactive mind he was unable to turn off.
Childe is the voice of discomfort, but his empathetic tones ensure that listeners are welcomed, acting as an open invitation to the mind of the artist. His live shows are a cathartic and therapeutic experience. Those who have already seen him live will understand how big, raw, and emotive his voice is. Childe touches upon topics that are very rarely captured by a male singer-songwriter.
‘Stoned & Supremely Confident’ was written between London and LA with Danny Presant. The album looks at segments of Childe's experiences in life, writing about horror film versions of life moments, over-medicating, loving so hard you would die, a mushroom trip, the baby boomers and one very literal depiction of him trying to be a better friend.

There is an encapsulating artistry flowing through the work of pop-trailblazer Childe. Pulling ideas from creative pursuits beyond merely music, from literature to art, the singer-songwriter is a searching and provoking sonic presence. Using music as a cathartic outlook, he has shaped himself into a creative powerful, which will be coming to a head across his highly anticipated forthcoming debut album, Stoned & Supremely Confident, set for release on 8th September.
As he gears up for the release of the album, the artist has unveiled a third teaser single, following the stellar efforts “Better Friends” and “Death Wish”. “Chemical Balance” is as visceral as it is emotive, with serene guitar work and immersive production laying the foundations for intricate and personal lyricism. Resolute in his description of difficult matters, Childe depicts his mentality in a refined yet explorative manner, highlighting his growing character and musicianship.
On the release, Childe says, “Medicating can be an effective part of managing depression and anxiety, but it’s being used as a blunt tool. Each brain is different. My sister was diagnosed as having bipolar disorder and I think that instead of numbing out her reaction to life, we have to look at why so many people are feeling like this. The world is broken, not the people.”
