Info for Happiness Begins

As their new singles heat up worldwide, GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum powerhouse trio–Jonas Brothers—reveal the news that fans everywhere have waited nearly a decade for. The group will release its first album since 2009 and one of 2019’s most anticipated records.

This week, “Sucker” makes history as the band’s first number one at Top 40 radio in the US and number two in Canada, according to Mediabase. Simultaneously, their newest single “Cool” has quickly ascended into the Top 20 at the format, where it continues to climb. The songs have taken pop culture by storm, becoming the #1 and #2 greatest gainers at the format last week.

Following a six-year hiatus, Jonas Brothers took the world by storm in 2019 with the surprise release of their critically acclaimed and widely successful single "Sucker." The double-platinum single debuted at #1 on Billboard's Hot 100, becoming the first #1 for the band and the first #1 debut from a group this century. The band went on to release Chasing Happiness, an Amazon Original film documenting the brothers rise and return to music, before going on to deliver their third #1 album debut with the release of their platinum-selling album Happiness Begins (Republic Records). Throughout the year the band continued to soar with their sold-out “Happiness Begins Tour,” with over 1.2 million tickets sold.

The preeminent male group of this century, Jonas Brothers opened the floodgates for a new era of titans in pop music. They earned two number one albums and sold out shows throughout three continents. Selling over 17 million-plus albums with over 1 billion streams worldwide, they've achieved dozens of platinum and gold certifications. Jonas Brothers notably received a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best New Artist,” garnered “Breakthrough Artist” at the American Music Awards, won Billboard’s “Eventful Fans’” Choice Award for “Best Concert Tour of the Year,” and took home a Mexican Grammy, showcasing their international influence. The tremendous success of the band provided a launch pad for the successful and storied solo careers of Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas, who have kept loyal fans yearning for a reunion, until now.

Jonas Brothers
It all started with a haircut. Nicholas was singing in a barbershop one day, a patron heard him and recommended to Denise Jonas that they get in contact with Shirley Grant. The rest is history. For the next four years, Nick, Joe, & Kevin enjoyed much success in show business. Nick booked four Broadway shows (A Christmas Carol, Annie Get Your Gun, Beauty & the Beast, and Les Miserables); Kevin did many commercials (E-Brain, Office Depot, Burger King, American Express, Anti-Smoking, AT&T), and Joe made his Broadway debut in Baz Luhrman’s La Boheme as well as doing many commercials (Clorox, Tiger Toys, Spiderman, Zyrtec). Denise and Kevin Jonas had their three boys running all over New York getting them to rehearsals, shows, auditions, all while raising them to be the wonderful men they have become today….and giving the world a bonus Jonas!

Few bands have starred in Hollywood films, been the subject of their very own TV series and won a Grammy Award, but for Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas, AKA The Jonas Brothers, playing upbeat pop-rock and starring in feature-length films are what they do best. Since forming in 2005, the band have released five studio albums and sold over 17 million records worldwide.

The group caught the attention of Columbia Records boss Steve Greenberg who signed them up upon hearing ‘Please Be Mine’ for the first time. The band then toured extensively with Kelly Clarkson, The Backstreet Boys and The Click Five before releasing their debut single, ‘Mandy’ in December 2005. Their song featured heavily on MTV’s Total Request Live, Nickelodeon and the Cartoon Network.

In 2006, the brothers made their Disney Channel debut with their cover of ‘Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me)’ from Pirates of the Caribbean. They went on to be Disney channel favourites with their cover of Busted’s ‘Year 3000’. The band’s music featured on the soundtrack for Meet the Robinson’s and Disneymania 5, and in 2007 they even performed in the White House at the behest of former U.S. president, George W. Bush.

Their self-titled second album hit the shelves in August 2007 and by the end of its first week had made it to No 5 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart, with the album’s lead singles ‘Hold On’ and ‘S.O.S’ both making it into the Top 40 of the Billboard Pop Charts.

After disbanding in 2013, the band caused a social media storm when they announced they would be reuniting. In March 2019 they achieved their first Billboard Hot 100 No 1 single, triumphantly announcing the return of one of the world’s most beloved pop acts.
