Info for Maybe In Time

Emerging from Atlanta’s vibrant music scene, Penelope Road’s debut album “Maybe In Time” is slated for release October 23rd, 2026. Featuring lead single “New Money” the five-piece band blends elements of ‘70s rock, funk, soul and pop into a sound that feels both timeless and fresh.

Penelope Road enters new sonic territory on Maybe In Time, the band’s debut album on Warner Records. While traces of the 1970s and ’80s musical landscape abound, Maybe In Time also embraces elements of disco, pop, rock, and soul. The group’s 13-track major-label debut is a melting pot of influences, just like the city of Atlanta’s versatile music scene where Penelope Road formed.

The band of childhood friends, Max Moore (lead vocals/guitar), Charles Eastman (lead vocals/keys), Koan Roy-Meighoo (vocals/guitar), James Kopp (bass), and Anthony Smith (drums), grew up around Atlanta. Penelope Road’s earliest iteration formed in 2023 while the group of twenty-somethings was in college. The band name comes from the street Moore and Kopp lived on and rehearsed in West Atlanta.

The quintet has since honed its craft and songwriting chops with three EPs—2024 self-titled debut, The Diamond Street Sessions produced by Tyler Greenwell (of Tedeschi Trucks Band) and Spencer Garn, and 2025 project Chance Encounter. Maybe In Time marks a new era for Penelope Road, as all five members helped pen the songs with a team of new collaborators, including GRAMMY-winning songwriter/producer Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves).

I don’t wanna live playing by the book, Penelope Road sing on “California,” the shimmering pop-rock opening track to the band’s LP. Fittingly, the longtime friends and musicians are doing the opposite. Written in the Golden State, “California” details Penelope Road leaving its hometown of Atlanta.

The single “New Money” sees the band embracing a modern pop sound alongside a driving beat and ear-grabbing guitar and synthesizer. One of four tracks written with Tashian, “New Money” is an obvious earworm. Disco-flavored “Just Another Night,” also penned with Tashian, continues to push the band musically and vocally, featuring impressive falsettos from Eastman and Moore.

Maybe In Time marks a new chapter for Penelope Road. While their captivating live show has won over audiences throughout the U.S., the band’s major-label debut, Maybe In Time, marks a step forward musically, lyrically, and thematically. The modern-meets-traditional pop-rock sound of Maybe In Time further cements Penelope Road as purveyors of today’s music scene while aptly serving as a time capsule of the twenty-somethings’ lives rooted in Atlanta. The best of both worlds, Penelope Road’s musical path is just beginning.
