Thomas Fleischer
born 1961, studied violoncello at the University of Music “Franz Liszt” Weimar. At the age of 16 he played in his father’s band for which he arranged many songs. As a student he earned first recognition giving concerts with various orchestras. In 1983 he became solo cellist at the Erfurt Opera. From 1988 to ’89 he played at the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne. Afterwards he became second solo cellist at the Bochum Symphonics. Since then he toured with pop stars such as Sting, Ian Anderson, Lou Reed and Herbert Grönemeyer. Various chamber music ensembles invited him to play concerts all over Germany as well as abroad.
