Duran Duran
New wave band Duran Duran shot to fame in the 1980’s, and have remained one of the most iconic British bands of all time.

Duran Duran’s fame is thanks in part to the rise of MTV during the 1980’s, which regularly showed their music videos to fans both in the UK and America. They became known for their use of video technology in their live stadium shows, and were one of the first groups to do so. They have sold over 100 million records, and won countless awards including two Brit Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award for Lifetime Achievement. Some of their most loved hits include Girls on Film, Rio, Hungry Like the Wolf, The Reflex and Planet Earth. The band have toured consistently for nearly 40 years since their first The Faster Than Light Tour in 1981, playing for sell out audiences across Europe, America, Asia and the UK. Duran Duran played as part of the 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony and have performed and worked with some of the biggest names in music including Blondie, Justin Timberlake, Mark Ronson, Nile Rodgers, Sting and Scissor Sisters.

Having recorded a James Bond film theme tune and been named as Princess Diana’s favourite band, Duran Duran’s contribution to British music cannot be overstated and they remain legends of the music world. They continue to release records, with their next single due for release in October 2021.
