Katharina Konrad
The first milestones of Katharina Konradi’s still-young career include First Prize at the 2016 German Music Competition and the Special Prize of the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation awarded for her outstanding achievement. Born in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Konradi began her vocal training in 2009 with Julie Kaufmann in Berlin and completed her studies in Munich with Christiane Iven, Donald Sulzen, and Fritz Schwinghammer, earning a Master’s in Lied interpretation. After beginning her career at the Kammeroper Munich and Theater Hof, the soprano has been an ensemble member of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden since the 2015/16 season, where she sings the major roles for her voice, including Pamina, Gretel, Susanna, and Zdenka. During the 2017/18 season she gave her debut at the Staatsoper Hamburg as Ännchen in Der Freischütz. Konradi performs with such celebrated orchestras as the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, Tonhalle Orchester Zurich, Dresdener Philharmoniker, and Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. She is a prizewinner at Germany’s national “Jugend musiziert” competition and at the Sommerakademie Mozarteum. Konradi won First Prize in the “Lied Duo” category from the Kulturkreis Gasteig in Munich, and is a scholarship holder of the Paul Hindemith Society Berlin, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation, and German National Academic Foundation.
