Biography Bill Pritchard
Bill Pritchard
A stranger in his own country. Although born in England, this multi-talented artist was unknown in his homeland for a long time. As a singer-songwriter, arranger, and producer, the Brit released an album in Belgium in 1988. With his artistically sophisticated synth pop, Pritchard first conquered the Belgian market, then the entire French market. Pritchard collaborated with French music greats such as Daniel Darc, Étienne Daho, and Françoise Hardy. In the early 90s, he also made his breakthrough in the US with his single “Tommy & Co.”
The singer switched from cool 80s pop to guitar and analog instruments and once again captured the spirit of the times. Thanks to MTV, “Tommy & Co” was in heavy rotation in the early 90s. In collaboration with British rocker Ian Broudie, the next album, “Jolie,” was created. The melancholy of new wave perfectly suited Pritchard's new sound. Instead of synthesizers, Pritchard plays with his entire band in the studio. His cool style, paired with profound lyrics, make Pritchard relevant again in the decade of guitar music. Now also in Japan, Canada, and the rest of the world. Thanks to the internet, Bill Pritchard is now an insider tip worldwide. Of course, also in his own homeland...
