Biography Robert Gromotka & Jonas Hain

Robert Gromotka
is a Berlin-based composer, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist whose work bridges classical tradition, improvisation, and contemporary sound. After years of worldwide touring with bands and orchestras, he founded Tarab Taksi, an ensemble blending oriental influences with modern improvisation. His solo piano music explores cinematic, deeply atmospheric soundscapes, often described as orchestral in scope—“a full orchestra under my fingertips.” Alongside his solo career, Robert collaborates with ensembles and artists across genres, continually expanding his repertoire from concert performance to cross-cultural projects. Through his piano-driven compositions, he creates music that resonates both emotionally and intellectually, reaching audiences beyond boundaries of style or medium.

Jonas Hain
is a 27-year-old Berlin based composer and pianist who released his debut 8 track album “Solopiano” back in April this year. After completing his degree at Abbey Road Institute, he moved his piano to a temporary studio, about an hour away from Berlin. Hain originally aimed to become a Techno-DJ, but his musical focus shifted, inspired by an internship with a film score composer. After that he started to concentrate on classical music. His new single “MMXV” has been released on 19 October 2018.

“To me, piano music is the purest form of creating music. A piece composed on the piano can go anywhere, but it doesn’t have to. Composing exclusively on the piano was a very liberating process for me. The possibilities are endless, but also limited to a certain extent. I started my musical path with electronic music, where you can absolutely lose yourself in sound design and mangling. Each parameter of the production can be manipulated endlessly. The piano is an incredibly expressive element, but it let’s you focus on the actual core of the music: The composition. This made me realise that recording music is nothing else than capturing a performance which can never be reproduced identically. It definitely helped me to further understand the value of imperfection in music.“ (Jonas Hain)
